Socials and date parties
Socials are events where Delta Gamma and a selected fraternity pair up and spend the evening at a venue! The events are always a lot of fun with exciting themes that require unique costumes, delicious food and an awesome DJ. These events are a great way to meet new people and make new friends within the Greek community on campus. Date Parties are the highlight of the year for many Delta Gammas. They happen throughout the semester and are an opportunity for the woman to invite the date of their choice for a night out with their sisters. They are fun themed events that are a great way to get off campus and enjoy a night of dancing and socializing with great friends.
sisterhoods & sisterhood retreat
Sisterhood events are a very important part of what we do as a chapter. Sisterhood events are held as often as possible and are a great way to bond with your sisters. There is always a fun activity to participate in, and usually yummy food. Whether it is bowling, going to a trampoline park, going to see christmas lights, study parties, or workout classes, these events give each member a chance to grow closer to her sisters.
Sisterhood retreat is a overnight stay in the spring where the chapter travels to a different city, and focuses on the importance of friendship within Gamma Phi. At retreat members participate in bonding activities, which show that all members really are connected under the same values, which Delta Gamma instills in each of us. This overnight trip allows members to connect on a deeper level, and reminds them of the importance of friendship and Delta Gamma.
football season
The entire Sun Devil family eagerly anticipates the start of football season! The campus comes alive prior to kickoff with generations of Sun Devils filling up campus and Delta Gammas love, more than anything, the chance to show their Sun Devil pride, often meeting up before and after the game. During the game Delta Gamma's can always be found scattered throughout the student section, wearing their DG game day apparel and cheering the team onto victory!
Homecoming & greek week
For Delta Gammas, the Homecoming Game is one of the most anticipating games of the season. Every year Delta Gamma is paired up with a different fraternity, with whom they participate in various activities during the week prior to the game. Usually these events include float decorating, which is one of everyones favorite activities. This week is an awesome time to meet new people while showing SUN DEVIL spirit and support our football team. For Delta Gamma, Greek week is something we look forward to each spring semester! We are assigned teams which we do competitive events with throughout the week. The end of Greek Week is always the most exciting time because we compete in Greek Sing and participate in Relay for Life.
Family events
While providing unlimited love and support, our families get us through the ups and downs of college. We make sure to keep our family involved by hosting Dad's Weekend, Mom's Weekend, and Family Weekend. This past year for Dad's Weekend we had brunch then attended a Angels Spring Training game. For ASU's Family Weekend tailgate with our families then attend the game and cheer on the Sun Devils together.
Intramural sports
All year long Delta Gamma participates in various intramural sports in the Greek league on campus. This means we get to rally up a team and play against other sororities in the league. We start the year playing flag football, soccer, and indoor volleyball in the fall. Then with Spring semester comes soccer, basketball, and softball. Delta Gamma loves playing intramural sports because not only do we get to showcase our athleticism, but our bonds of sisterhood are strengthened immensely. From being on the team to decking ourselves out in bronze, pink and blue to cheer our sisters on from the sidelines, we all play an important role as one big team! Last spring we won the intramural championship in softball.
academics
The outstanding grade-point-averages of ASU Delta Gamma collegians not only resulted in the chapter being ranked in the top five of house GPAs of all sororities on campus but also brought the house to be well above the all-women’s GPA of Arizona State University. We provide scholarship and study resources for all members in order to attain academic achievement. If a member earns a 4.0 for one semester, Executive Offices sends a Lamp of Knowledge to attach to your badge, to recognize your academic success.
